Fish Tales: The Return of Bi-Spot

Once upon a time a couple of years or so ago, there was a little girl named Amanda who wanted a pet. Since her family lived in a "no pets" apartment (at least nothing bigger than a guinea pig), her parents decided to address the matter by letting her get some fish. The two 12 cent goldfish she picked that day spawned quite the critter legacy, but after many adventures, we found ourselves with one big fish left all alone in its big ol' tank. Until today, that is.

Today Dad took Amanda out to buy a fish. They returned with a little feeder goldfish no more than about an inch and a half long. It looks pretty tiny compared to our 6+ in long Black Moor goldfish, to say the least, but we're keeping our fingers crossed that the little fish will live long enough to reduce the size difference. The fish is named after one of those original two goldfish we got way back when. The other Bi-Spot was white with orange spots. That one lived for over two years and became 6+ in long before his passing. The new version is orange with white spots. We'll see how it goes. In related news, we've also got a tiny caterpillar in a jar as of yesterday, as well as a brand new homemade bird house to rent out.
