Our 4th of July Weekend 2010

Our 4th of July weekend began very pleasantly with Uncles Mike and Joe coming out to visit beginning Friday afternoon. The next morning we all walked over to see the local parade. The major themes for floats in the parade this year were community, Buckeyes, football, and Jim Trestle. Mom liked the float below because it was a "cake" to honor a local WWII veteran who is 100 this year.

Here are the boys getting ready to go to the parade:

Here's Amanda at the parade with Dad:

Dad needed to spend some time at school after the parade, which normally would have made for a rather quiet rest of the day. However, with Uncle Mike and Uncle Joe in town, Amanda and Jared got to go watch a movie that afternoon (Jared's first time going to a theater), and even Mom got to go to a movie that evening. Amanda also learned to ride a bike without training wheels, and Jared became an expert at peddling a tricycle. All in all, a nice 4th of July weekend, and one we're very glad we got to share with uncles.
