This year for Mom's birthday, she got her mother (aka Grandmother) for an extended visit. This post is dedicated to some highlights from Mom's actual birthday.
The day started when Mom and Grandmother snuck out early in the morning for breakfast at Bob Evan's. Yummy . . . definitely worth sneaking out early for. :)
The middle of the day was fairly typical, with the big exceptions of the Muffins having an alternate grown-up to entertain them and Mom being able to take an actual nap without having to leave one ear on/one eye open to Muffin monitor. Some other fun little things from the day:
Jared was just so cute, falling asleep on the floor in the middle of the day. :)
Curtis took a turn pulling someone else's hair for a change; funny, though, how cute he can be even climbing and clawing. :)
Amanda found a secret hideout where she could work on a top secret project: a birthday card for Mom. She had another friend helping her earlier in the day, too.
Mom had a hankering for Mexican food for dinner, and so, thanks to Grandmother, out we went to a nice Taco Bell/Pizza Hut combo where everyone could find something they liked to eat. (Dad was out studying at the time; don't worry, he made it back home in time for cake.)
And, of course, what's a birthday without a cake? Amanda is pictured by the extra-chocolaty ice cream cake Mom picked out for herself. As for the candle, well, Mom figured it was her birthday, and so there was no reason to make it harder than necessary to blow out the candles. :) All in all, a good birthday. And the best part: Grandmother got to stay for a couple of weeks afterward!
