Mother's Day, etc.

Our church service on Sunday included a special musical number by the children. Amanda proudly headed up to the stand, and although she did not know all the words for the verse of the song, no one had any doubt that she knew the chorus. The Relief Society chorister went so far as to say that she wished everyone would sing with Amanda's fervor. So, in case anyone was wondering, Amanda can sing, and very loudly, too.

Curtis went to church for the first time on Sunday. He slept just as well there as he does at home. Big brother Jared still has a couple more weeks before he'll be officially old enough for nursery, but he's loved it so much when we've been able to take him for visits that we're pretty sure that he'll do fine once he's officially in. (Here's hoping, anyway.)

Other recent events: Dad helped a friend get a driver's license not long ago. That evening, the friend was part of the moving crew that helped to bring us a piano. It's a nice kid-friendly piano, and Amanda and Jared have been enjoying it (as have Mom & Dad). Mom & Dad made it to ward temple night this month (thanks to babysitting by Grandmother), and Mom has been busy with family history since then (among other things), having been bitten by the family history bug again. Grandfather flew out to see us on Saturday, and we've been enjoying him/running him ragged since then. Today he took Mom and the Muffins out to the country for a change of pace and scene while Dad slaved away at one of his research projects. Grandmother and Grandfather will be flying home together tomorrow, though, and it will be interesting to see how Mom does after that with 3 Muffins all to herself while Dad's away during the day.
