The Best Breakfast EVER (and other stories)

It all started this morning when Mom opened the fridge to find that there was no milk to go with our usual cereal. No eggs, either, which are our typical alternate breakfast. So, Mom got mildly creative, mixing a couple of things together from her secret spice stash to add to toast. The result: something that Amanda claimed was the best breakfast she'd ever had. You guessed it: cinnamon sugar toast!

Mom announced it to the kids and could tell right away that the only part of it they'd heard was the word "sugar;" they definitely approved.

Seeing that Mom had the camera out, Amanda requested that another bit of news be recorded: she now knows how to tie shoes all by herself, thanks to instruction from Dad. Here she is tying . . .

and here's the finished product:

And then Mom took another sibling photo, just because.

But wait, you ask, where are the other two little Muffins? Fear not; they got their time in the camera lens this evening when Grandma and Grandpa came to visit. Here we have Curtis and Grandma admiring Lydia.

And here's Lydia happy to meet Grandma, too.
